We are looking to appoint an exceptional Assistant Head (Academic) to join our friendly and highly effective Senior Leadership Team.  The role of Assistant Head will be to work closely with the Head of Juniors and Junior School Senior Leadership Team. In particular the post holder will take the lead in promoting best practice in teaching and the development of staff. S/he will be an outstanding teacher who can demonstrate inspirational leadership skills.

 

The Assistant Head will need to demonstrate dedication, passion and ambition, a role model to staff and students, embodying the school’s values in your daily work. The school prides itself on high level personalised professional development for all staff.

This post is designed to provide an excellent platform from which to move on to a Deputy Head role either within our school, or other schools in our group as we continue to grow in the region.

 

 

Requirements

The ideal candidates will have the following qualifications, skills, experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree with PGCE/QTS;
  • At east 7 years of relevant teaching experience;
  • Leadership experience in shaping a vision and direction for the school, setting out high expectations and with a clear focus on student achievement, standards and quality of teaching;
  • Have an outstanding knowledge and understanding of teaching and learning in Early Years and/ or Primary;
  • An enthusiastic and innovative teacher with a genuine love of learning, who can motivate and inspire children using a wide range of teaching strategies;
  • Excellent role modelling for all members of  staff and for students in all aspects of school life;
  • Have a clear understanding of standardised assessments and a good level of data analysis and interpretation.
