Responsible to: Headmaster Repton School Dubai

Reporting to: Head of Senior School [& Head of Junior School for JS matters]

Line Management of:  Head of Inclusion in Junior School; Inclusion Team (Learning Support Teachers and Assistants; Learning Support Liaison; Therapists; AGT and EAL Coordinators

Teaching: 25% teaching capacity                                                 

Key Accountabilities:

  • Ensure that the school is compliant with the Dubai Inclusive Education Policy Framework.
  • Lead on DSIB inspection preparation and Inclusion SEF and development of Inclusion Team.
  • Promote an inclusive culture within the school, ensuring that the identified and specific needs of children requiring additional learning support, are met.
  • Ensure that staff are creating an inclusive environment within their classroom, by conducting formal and informal observations of pupils and teachers.
  • Provide regular training and support for all staff to ensure inclusion in teaching and learning is embedded across the school.
  • Ensure the Inclusion team are able to identify pupils who require one to one support within the Inclusive Education Policy.
  • Accountable for the standards of support offered within the Inclusion team and ensure compliance with school policy and UAE law.
  • Coordinate pupil review meetings and interventions when needed.
  • Ensure that the Code of Practice is implemented.
  • Provide advice and support for small group [wave 2] interventions.
  • Evaluate the impact of interventions across the school
  • Coordinate parental communication and termly reviews of IEPs.
  • Supervise the implementation of Student Learning Profile/passport through-out the school.
  • Keep abreast of current developments in inclusive teaching and learning.



  • Bachelor’s degree
  • Teaching certification,
  • Educational leadership/management qualification or workshops / training. 
  • An education to Master’s degree level would be preferable.


  • At least eight years of teaching experience.
  • Minimum of two years’ experience as a Head of Inclusion/SENCO.
  • Middle or senior leader with experience in teaching & learning, pedagogy and staff performance management.


  • An outstanding classroom teacher who has consistently delivered excellent results in either UK or IB curriculums.
  • Proven knowledge and understanding of effective teaching methods.
  • Experience of developing a high performing team.
  • Knowledge of child protection and safeguarding
